The danger of compromise
This
message is to every one that has been redeemed. By the word redeemed, I
mean those who have accepted the lordship of Jesus Christ and are
saved. Before we continue this important epistle on this subject, I
will like us to define danger literally - danger and compromise.
What is danger?
This is the possibility of something unwelcome or unpleasant occurring.
What is compromise?
This is a state of one being between conflicting alternatives.
As
a believer, we are admonished not to wave in our faith in God and his
promises for us. (Heb 10:23). No matter the crises that a child of God
finds his or herself, God expects him to stay in the promise. No matter
how dark it may be at night, there is the dawning of the day. That
situation will change for the better if you avoid compromising your
virtue as a believer.
There
was a young man who was serving the Lord with all that he has and all
his might. But one day, situation arose that he was afflicted with a
terrible sickness. Being that this young man was surrounded by
unbelieving members of the family who will not stop at anything to get
results, it was suggested to him that a goat sacrifice must be done to
the gods of their family to stay alive.
The
young man at a stage objected to the decision of the family members
that on no circumstances should any sacrifice be made for him. All the
family members needed was his assent.
