Dangers of Compromise

The danger of compromise

This message is to every one that has been redeemed.  By the word redeemed, I mean those who have accepted the lordship of Jesus Christ and are saved.  Before we continue this important epistle on this subject, I will like us to define danger literally - danger and compromise.

What is danger?
This is the possibility of something unwelcome or unpleasant occurring.

What is compromise?
This is a state of one being between conflicting alternatives.

As a believer, we are admonished not to wave in our faith in God and his promises for us. (Heb 10:23).  No matter the crises that a child of God finds his or herself, God expects him to stay in the promise.  No matter how dark it may be at night, there is the dawning of the day.  That situation will change for the better if you avoid compromising your virtue as a believer.

There was a young man who was serving the Lord with all that he has and all his might. But one day, situation arose that he was afflicted with a terrible sickness. Being that this young man was surrounded by unbelieving members of the family who will not stop at anything to get results,  it was suggested to him that a goat sacrifice must be done to the gods of their family to stay alive.

The young man at a stage objected to the decision of the family members that on no circumstances should any sacrifice be made for him.  All the family members needed was his assent.

At a very crucial moment, when he could no longer move his body effectively, he was pressured to give his assent.  He latter found himself at the juju man's shrine and a goat was presented for the sacrifice.  That was the end of that destiny that was meant to be glorious.  As the juju priest placed his sharp knife on the throat of the he-goat, the man screamed,  my neck, my neck.  The priest continued with intense, and as the neck of the goat was chop off, that young man died. It is my prayer that you don't give up when it matters most in your life in Jesus name.  Let us see some biblical examples of men of faith who conquer all odds to become ever living in the lives of many as role models.

Joseph: (Gen 39: 7 -9) He had the opportunity of sleeping with his master's wife to gain some immediate promotion as a chief servant at Portiphers house but he refuse.  Hear what he said in the above scriptures
7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
8 But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? (kjv).  In this modern word most Christians will find it an escape root to affluence and protection.  But that singular act of immorality would have marred Joseph's destiny for life.  His God ordained vision to save his people from severe famine in the land of Israel would have been truncated on the platter of an adulterous woman's lap.  But he refused.
